Have you been considering LED or IPL photofacial treatments? As a skin care procedure, these types of light-based technology treatments have become quite popular in recent years. Before making a decision as to whether photofacials will help you achieve your skin care goals, there are a few facts you should know. Let’s take a look at the basics.

First of all it’s important to understand the various terms used to describe the procedure when you’re just getting started with your research. It can be confusing because photofacials are also referred to as foto facial, fotofacial rejuvenation, photo facial, IPL, photo rejuvenation and more. In addition to the wide variety of names used, photofacial technology comes in many forms. Two of the most well-known are IPL and LED.

IPL Photofacial

The abbreviation “IPL” stands for “Intense Pulsed Light”. If you have rosacea, broken capillaries, brown spots or other similar issues, an IPL treatment might be a good option for you. It involves hitting the affected area of the skin with a high intensity light. Only a trained technician should perform the procedure to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Although many think that IPL photofacials are simple or easy, nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, IPL treatments can result in mild skin burns and cause a bit of discomfort. Usually though, any temporary pains or burning sensations should quickly subside.

Watch as expert Mary Elizabeth Thinnes (licensed medical aesthetician) demonstrates an IPL photofacial treatment…

LED Photofacial

The abbreviation “LED” stands for “Light Emitting Diode”. An LED photofacial, unlike IPL, is completely painless and quite comfortable. In fact, a lot of people find it to be very relaxing.

LED treatments can kill acne-causing bacteria. They can also give your skin a collagen boost which can help with many signs of skin aging. However, for best results they need to be repeated frequently. In addition, they tend to work best when they are combined with other treatment methods. Think of an LED treatment as more of a maintenance treatment or as one small piece in a bigger puzzle.

What You Need To Know About Photofacial Treatments

There are certain treatment details you should know regarding photofacials. For starters, treatment time is quite fast. In just 30 to 45 minutes, the treatment session will probably be over. As discussed previously though, you’ll need to have repeated treatments in the future for continued results.

Some quick facts about photofacials include:

IPL photofacials can cause redness and discomfort

LED treatments have no known side effects

IPL treatments can generally treat a larger skin area compared with LED treatments

As with any major health decision, you’ll need to weigh the good points against the bad before you decide which treatment (if any) is the best for you. You’ll also need to consider your budget and whether you have the finances available to get repeated skin care treatments.

For those who have both the time and the money to invest, photofacial treatments can be very effective. That’s especially true if you have surface skin problems that don’t run too deep. Age spots, for example, can often be treated by removing the top layers of skin with these types of treatment options. For those who decide against professional treatments, LifeCell is a great option to keep your skin as young looking as possible without having to resort to cosmetic procedures. It can also help your skin stay healthy after having such procedures.

The best wrinkle product is the best one for your skin type. Just because it works for others doesn’t mean it will work for you, but it can be something to consider. There are a wide range of wrinkle care products and you can easily get overwhelmed when it comes to making a choice. Think about these tips the next time you review wrinkle care products on the market.

1. The cost of the product doesn’t tell the complete story about the product itself. It’s one thing if you have a budget you’re trying to stick to, but cheaper brands sometimes don’t cut it and you may have to be more flexible with how much you are willing to spend. Keep in mind though, just because it costs more doesn’t mean it’s as effective.

2. Many wrinkle products have research to back up what they do. Finding out the latest research claims can help you get insight on the make of the product. This should be a part of your research to learn about how the ingredients work together to give you the results you’re looking for.

3. Consider the concentration of active ingredients. Some creams offer higher levels than others and in many cases the formulas that have lower levels of active ingredients don’t last as long. High levels may make the product considerable for long term use if the end result is long lasting. This can help extend the supply of your product longer and save money.

4. Wrinkle products usually require daily use and you may have to use it for awhile before you see the results. You want a cream product that is easy, simple, and safe to use. Many people have busy schedules, so when it comes to a skin care regimen you want something you can put on fast and go. Some products can be used at bedtime, but for best results follow the directions on the label.

5. Get familiar with side effects and be cautious if your skin is already irritated. Some products can cause rashes, dryness, flaking, irritation, burning and redness. Usually a product will have a warning stating possible side effects but consult a professional if you have concerns.

6. Everyone has different skin, which means it may not be the best idea to use a product just because a friend or family member swears by it. It’s okay to take suggestions, but you know your skin best and what works for you. It may help to try and sample the product before buying a full supply and some may offer trial sizes or risk-free payment plans for you to observe the effectiveness.

The best wrinkle product may not be as effective by itself, so it may not be best to rely solely on the product. Caring for your skin should include eating a balanced diet and other healthy habits to keep your skin looking its best. A healthy lifestyle and a good skin care product can help your skin look beautiful for years to come.

As you get older your skin changes, meaning you may have to consider making changes to how you care for your skin. Many experience their skin getting dry, thin, spotty, and for some scratches and bruises that take longer to heal and clear up. There are many options and tips when it comes to skin care for aging skin that are simple and easy to apply in daily living. The good news is you can still keep your skin looking healthy and vibrant at any age.

Dry skin seems to be experienced by many with common areas including legs, elbows, face and hands. Dry skin feels unpleasant, with common causes including lack of fluid intake, sun exposure, stress, and dry air, a decrease in sweat and oil glands, as well as health problems.

As you get older it is important to keep your skin moisturized. It helps to apply your moisturizer of choice when you get out of the shower or bath, after coming in from the cold, and for some two times during the day. There are various moisturizers such as lotion, cream, oil, and other products available that can be used daily to hydrate the skin.

There are special care options you can do for your skin such as facial cleaners, night creams, and masks. Exfoliate your skin once a week to remove dry and dead skin cells. Keeping your skin clean will help to reduce clogged pores from exposure of daily activities and the environment.

Limit the amount of time you are in the sun and wear sunscreen when necessary. There are lotions and creams available that may have added sunscreen in the product formula. Choosing a sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher works best to protect the skin from harmful UV rays from the sun which can add more damage to your skin. Wear protective clothing such as hats, sunglasses, and scarfs to protect sensitive areas from the sun such as your neck, chest, and face.

Along with a healthy diet, exercising can help rejuvenate your skin and help circulation especially after a brief workout. There are even facial exercises that help your face muscles and may also help your skin and face tone while smoothing fine lines. Drinking a good amount of water daily not only helps your body stay hydrated but is does wonders for your skin. Water helps to flush impurities from your body and helps the body intake necessary nutrients efficiently. Drinking plenty of water can keep your skin looking fresh while enhancing your natural glow.

Your skin type will give clues as to how you go about caring for your skin’s needs. An overall healthy lifestyle should play a major role in skin care for aging skin. Smoking and alcohol can be contributing factors of skin aging. Adopting a process to help care for your skin can be simple, whether you are looking to make your skin appear younger or you just want to maintain good health for you skin.

It’s just a universal law of some sort – young is highly desirable while old is yesterday’s news. No one wants to look like an old hag, myself included. And I’m guessing you don’t want to show your age either and that’s why you’re here. If you want to know how to look younger without surgery or expensive treatments, you’re in for a real treat. Let’s get started.

Honestly, most of us don’t think too much about lines and wrinkles until we actually get them. I was still in my 20s when I noticed the first signs of aging. But, those first subtle lines weren’t too noticeable so I didn’t worry much about them. Makeup worked just fine as a coverup. As time went on though, it became much more difficult to hide underneath cosmetics. That’s when I got into a close and personal relationship with all things skin care and so I’d like to share a few of my strategies with you to help you look younger too.

Avoid heavy makeup especially around the eye area. Going heavy on cosmetics can work against you as you get older. Excessive foundation or powder can cling to lines and wrinkles, making them more prominent. In general, creams tend to work better than powders since older skin can easily become dehydrated. Some women do well with mineral makeup however, most likely because it can be applied lightly and still offers good coverage.

Consider having your teeth whitened. Teeth can become stained over the years simply because they’ve had a greater opportunity for exposure to wine, coffee, tea and other beverages that are known to cause discoloration. Schedule a consultation with your dentist or get one of the whitening products available at your drugstore. Keep in mind that the procedure performed by your dentist will be faster but also more expensive.

Eat a well-balanced diet including lots of fruits and veggies. The more nutrients you consume, the better your skin will look overall. This is true for younger women as well when it comes to acne or other skin conditions. You’ll also want to keep your body hydrated by drinking ample amounts of fresh, clear water. It’s a lot easier to keep your skin hydrated and moist when you start with a properly fueled body.

Get enough activity and include muscle building activities into your routine. Movement improves your circulations and cardiovascular health while resistance training improves your muscles. It all works together to help you feel better and look younger. You’ll also be able to stand up straight so you look taller and thinner which is a natural age reducing trick.

And, don’t forget to use high-quality products on your skin. LifeCell cream is the perfect way to minimize the signs of aging and it has an impact that starts with your very first application. It’s a great way to look younger without plastic surgery or professional procedures. If you haven’t already tried it, I highly recommend you check it out right away. Click here for all the details.

Of course there are many other tips I could give you to look younger that are well beyond the reach of a single article. If you’d like to learn more, be sure to sign up for the “Look 10 Years Younger” report on the upper right-hand side of this page. It’s completely free and will show you even more anti aging information to help you look your best.

If you want to know how to get rid of wrinkles, you’re certainly not alone. We all hate ugly wrinkles, especially since they tend to sneak up on us. One day we have a baby face and the next day we remind ourselves of our parents or grandparents.

The trouble with wrinkles is that they aren’t completely avoidable. Not only that, but some people are just genetically predisposed to get more of them than others. So, the trick is learning to deal with the genetic cards that you’re dealt.

In terms of treating wrinkles, the old saying holds true. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. You can treat them after you have them, but it’s always better if you can stop them from showing up to begin with. Luckily, there are lots of ways to prevent wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Diet:

Eating a healthy diet is key to not just your general health, but also the health of your skin. A healthy diet means lots of fresh vegetables. In fact, deep colored vegetables are best. They usually contain the most antioxidants, which help increase your circulation and keep your skin hydrated properly.

Skin Maintenance:

There are two steps to skin maintenance. The first is to make sure you clean your face properly and remove dirt, make up, debris and other unwanted materials. It’s important to keep your skin from getting too oily or dirty.

Also, exfoliating is important. A good exfoliant is slightly abrasive which means it can help you to scrub off the top layer of dead skin cells on your face. This allows new skin cells to grow and be healthier.

The next step to skin maintenance is using a good hydrating lotion on your skin. Often, you can find multi-purpose lotions. They can hydrate your skin, fortify it with necessary vitamins, like vitamins A, C and E, and fend off wrinkles all at once. So, just be sure to to find the right cream to suit your needs.

Sun Protection:

A final thing to think about is protecting your skin from the harsh rays of the sun. Sun can cause your skin to dry out and age much faster. Also, it can increase your risk of skin cancer. So, finding and consistently using a good sun screen is important.

Learning how to get rid of wrinkles isn’t a single-step process. There’s a lot involved. So, if you want the best results, you really need to perfect your skin care routine.

Have you ever thought about why we start to look older than we feel? You know the symptoms of aging skin… lines and wrinkles, blotchy skin, age spots and discoloration, dull skin tone, sagging skin, feathered and thinning lips, puffy eyes and crow’s feet. However, in order to reverse the signs of aging, we must address the causes rather than treating only the symptoms. Unfortunately, many anti aging creams fall short.

Biologically speaking, our skin ages because of damage by free radicals, changes in fat content and collagen levels in the skin, dehydration, changes at the DNA level, elastin polypeptide degradation as well as certain disorders relating to the lipid matrix of the skin. By addressing these specific problems in addition to treating the evidence of aging you already see on your face, you can dramatically improve the condition of your skin.

Many of the anti aging creams on the market tend to favor instant results but ignore the underlying causes. When a product line actually addresses each of the causes and signs of aging skin, the treatments are almost always separated into several individual skin creams and serums. These skin care systems often result in consumers buying several different skin products – as many as 10 to 15 or more in some cases – to effectively reverse the signs of aging.

So how much do most of us typically spend on all these moisturizing creams, firming serums, under eye creams, anti wrinkle creams, day creams, night creams, age spot treatments, lip conditioners and the countless other products we’re told we need? Certainly it depends on the particular skin care line, but it’s almost always A LOT. And let’s not even talk about the TIME it takes to actually apply all this stuff twice each day.

The other side of the coin is that many of us don’t use enough of the anti aging treatments we need to look our best and end up unhappy with the results. After all, life just gets in the way sometimes and that’s really a shame. It’s sad because it doesn’t need to be that way and so many women aren’t aware of what’s available to them.

Of course the ideal solution in my opinion is LifeCell skin cream – the original all-in-one anti-aging treatment designed to tackle both the visible signs of aging as well as the biological changes that are associated with aging skin. There are some amazing ingredients in that single tube of skin cream… it’s something you really have to see for yourself to believe. I’m definitely a huge fan and have yet to see anything like it. As far as anti aging creams go… this one far exceeded my expectations.
